It is officially fall. We're late for back-to-school shopping, but the blazing sun and bright blue skies the last few weeks had sundresses and shorts begging for one last spin around the block. Now the days are growing shorter and grayer as temperatures are dropping.
Crisp air is making cheeks rosy, we're dreaming of steaming mugs of apple cider and we're looking for a wardrobe to match. Textures that block out the chill and colors that trade the neons of summer for hues that echo the changing leaves.
I can't afford a total wardrobe update, but if I could, here are some of the things I'm dreaming of.
For starters, I am obsessed with the peter pan collar and metallic accents on this cardigan.
This sweater is basically a blanket that you can wear. Yes, please.
I already own too many cream-colored sweaters (including one from Zara with leather elbow patches that I practically live in), but how cute is this? It's soft and sweet, and I love the crochet detailing.
I want to buy this sweatshirt dress, and then live in it until spring comes back.
These pullovers are a little out of my price range, but I love the over-saturated dye on the blue, and the olive green is perfect for fall. The cut and fabric promises the comfiness of a sweatshirt but the button detailing and tailoring mean you can wear these around the clock without feeling like a total schlub (not that there's anything wrong with that). Yes, I think one of each would suit me just fine.
The belt on this cape dress gives it enough structure so that, paired with the right accessories, it would fit right in at the office, but it still looks cozy and soft enough that it's perfect for snuggling.
I would love to wear this coat over everything. Doesn't it look cozy enough to sleep in?
Every time I buy a pair of new boots, I justify it by saying that this time I'm going to wear these boots for years and not buy any new ones. Notwithstanding, how perfect are these chelsea boots? I could see wearing them all season long, they go with practically everything.
Ok, so this jumpsuit doesn't seem so cozy, but how cute is it for going out? Perfect for that transitional weather when it's getting too cool at night to wear just a dress yet you're not quite ready to break out the tights. I'm not sure how it would fit on a human body as opposed to a model body, but it looks adorable here and I can imagine styling it a thousand different ways.
This is purely aspirational, but I love love love this ring, and who couldn't use a little bit of sparkle to help get through the dreary weather coming up?
So there's my wish list. What are you hoping to keep you warm this autumn?
