If you're looking to elevate your shower game, Vivica A. Fox has such a genius little tip. What you do is drop a little essential oil on the floor of your shower before you start your shower, and the steamy shower basically acts as a giant diffuser, so your shower and even your whole bathroom smell dreamy by the time you're done.
It just so happens that we live steps from a magical little shop that stocks a variety of (mostly organic) essential oils, so I picked up a bottle of lavender essential oil. A few drops in the bathtub as I turned on the shower was all it took. You know how when you walk into a fancy spa, before you even start your massage or your facial or whatever, you already start to relax? The air just seems nicer in there. Well, friend, now that fancy air experience can be yours at home and it couldn't be simpler.
I love the lavender oil I bought, and I'm excited to branch out and try different scents, too. I think if you're a morning shower person, a peppermint or citrus scent would be fun and energizing. Since I usually shower at night and could use something that would help me unwind after feeling like I've been going a mile a minute all day, I think I might try bergamot, vetiver, or ylang ylang essential oils next - very different scents, but all with relaxing properties.
